In-Person and/or Virtual Sessions
We will meet 1:1 at your discretion and convenience to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with the intent on achieving symptom reduction, personal growth, and greater connection to yourself and others in your world. Individuals often come to therapy when the ways they have been coping with difficult experiences are no longer serving them, and may even be creating more disruption and upset. Together, we will process patterns in your life and help you gain insight and awareness to make sense of what was previously overwhelming and confusing, and help you move forward towards growth and living life as you want to.
"Your Emotional Tour Guide"
My job is to bring you to the edge of what is comfortable, to what you have been potentially ignoring or avoiding, so you may develop an understanding and awareness of your emotions and experiences. We will 'sit in the hard stuff' together, so these previously difficult pieces feel more manageable and safe to explore. We will develop new ways for you to view and understand yourself and your experiences that will assist you in showing up in your life as your authentic self.
How Does This Work: The Therapy Roadmap
Early sessions consist of me learning about you, hearing a bit about your story and what brings you into therapy. The first few sessions also provide you an opportunity to get to know me and develop your comfort and safety of being with me in session.
Next, we ensure that you have resources and coping strategies in place to lean on for when we get into the 'meat and potatoes' of what brings you to therapy. If you don't currently have effective ways of coping with hard emotions and experiences, we will spend some time here skill building - this is typically where different modalities are pulled in to ensure the interventions and strategies I am using resonate with you and are customized to your needs.
As it becomes easier to sit with more difficult emotions and experiences we will begin to explore the hard stuff you have experienced - always at your own pace and readiness.
Finally, as you develop a new awareness and understanding of yourself, and your emotions and experiences, we work together to build your confidence and competence to apply these new strategies and insight as you move forward with your life, ready to tackle the challenges ahead.
